Guests coming from four countries (India, France, Switzerland and Italy) will take part in the awards ceremony for the second edition of Earth Prize international, the international prize for environmental education and the landscape that takes place in Luino ( Va) on Lake Maggiore Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October.
Among them we find many well-known names in the world of scientific research or in the field. Starting from Stefano Mancuso, world-famous scientist, beloved for his Manifesto of the Nation of Plants and Maddalena Gioia Gibelli, architect and architect of agricultural and urban landscapes and of the waterway of Expo 2015.
Also present were the Indian teacher Kiran Bir Sethi, founder of the Design for Change project, a campaign to teach children to change lifestyles in a more sustainable way that has reached 22 countries.
At the international level there is the Fridays for Future movement, which just a few days ago brought millions of people to the streets for the Global Climate Strike (150 countries involved and 116 cities in Italy), ideally uniting them with the young activist Greta Thunberg.
Earth Prize is also an opportunity to meet some groups that work every day for more sustainable lifestyles, such as the AECP (Alliance pour un Éducation à la Citoyenneté Planétaire) French-speaking network spread in Europe, Africa and Canada that accompanies young people in their actions ecological towards greater sustainability and the foundation éducation21, national center of competence and performance for education for sustainable development in Switzerland.
Among the Italians we also mention some excellences: the National Pile Coordination Center and accumulators, which involved thousands of schools and the CNR Water Research Institute of Pallanza with the project Una pila alla Volta.
